Strip sludge dewatering machine is a very common sludge mechanical dewatering equipment in municipal sewage and industrial wastewater treatment. It uses the tension and pressure of the filter cloth to squeeze and dewater the sludge, because its structure is similar to the strip, so it is named.

Operational Principle:

The sludge filter press operates by pumping slurry into chambers formed by filter plates. Each plate surface is coated with filter cloth that allows water permeation while retaining solid particles. As the slurry gradually fills the chambers, solid matter accumulates on the filter cloth, eventually forming a filter cake. The filtrate is discharged through corner outlets, leaving behind dehydrated solid residue.

Operational Considerations:

• Floc selection and dosage: the type (cation/anion) and molecular weight of the floc most suitable for the current sludge properties must be selected through pilot test, and the dosage should be controlled accurately. Too little or too much dosage will lead to poor dewatering effect.

• Filter belt tension adjustment: too small tension, insufficient pressure, mud wet; too much tension, accelerate the wear of filter belt, increase energy consumption.

• Filter belt speed adjustment: the speed should match the sludge dosage. If the speed is too fast, the dewatering time is short and the mud cake becomes wet; if the speed is too slow, the processing capacity decreases.

• Filter belt flushing: it is necessary to ensure that the flushing water has enough pressure (usually ≥0.5MPa) and flow rate to thoroughly clean the filter belt, otherwise the filter belt blockage will lead to a sharp decline in dehydration efficiency.

• Regular maintenance: regularly check the lubrication of bearings and rollers, check the wear of mud scraper and filter belt, and replace damaged parts in time.
