Garbage Transfer Center Leachate Treatment Station

As a crucial link between waste collection and treatment, garbage transfer stations are vital for maintaining urban household waste management systems. To reduce waste volume, these facilities use compression equipment to compress garbage, which releases water that forms concentrated leachate with foul odors. Without proper treatment, this contaminated liquid can severely pollute surrounding water bodies, soil, and air.

The wastewater treatment project primarily addresses two distinct sources: The first comprises leachate generated during waste compression processes, classified as high-concentration organic wastewater. Field measurements indicate CODcr concentrations ranging between 45,000 and 65,000 mg/L. The second source consists of wastewater from workshop cleaning and garbage truck washing operations. While these effluents demonstrate relatively lower concentrations, their daily operation frequently contains mixed waste or leachate, resulting in similarly elevated CODcr and SS levels.

The two types of sewage were homogenized and equalized in the regulating tank. Through the weighted average analysis of the water quality of the two types of sewage, and referring to the water quality of other similar projects in China, the design scheme of this project was determined and achieved good results.
